Old Staffordshire Ware, England. An antique pair of riders on horseback. Pre 1900, this is a true pair painted by the same artist. No chips or blemishes. On one, there is hairline cracking on the back of the base that was done during the firing process. The hairlines are not on the bottom and they are not on any area that can be viewed (see picture). Other than that they are in pristine condition. The riders are wearing helmets suggesting polo or hunting. Excellent condition. Purchase the pair.

“Mujer Voladora” paper maché sculpture by Sergio Bustamante. Translates to Flying Lady. This is signed and numbered: “Sergio Bustamante 10/100 ©”. It is in mint condition with no visible marks, scratches or blemishes.  There are a couple if tiny marks on the bottom of the integrated stand where it has been sitting on a table. The painting is exquisite with lots of thin brush strokes and amazing detail.

Frame and matting are original to the piece and period. Frame is showing it’s typical age with some marks and dints. Easily fixed.

Delightful, original, multi-media, chalk, pastel on paper of a street musician in Mexico. Pablo Esteban O’Higgins 1904-1983, studied under Diego Rivera in the 1930s and ’40s. Full signature “Pablo O’Higgins” lower right. Circa 1948. Frame is modern with gold edges and a dark brown bevelled matt. Excellent condition.

Market in Cuautla. Colour lithograph on paper by Pablo Esteban O’Higgins 1904-1983.  That of a peasant woman vegetable seller. One of the original 250 created in 1946. The original might have been done in crayon and pastel. Signed in the margin lower right in pencil, “Pablo O’Higgins”. Appropriately framed with beige and  burgundy matts with beveled inner cut. Frame is wood with bronze/gold finish. Excellent condition. This is not an inexpensive, new print that you see on eBay – it’s a true lithograph on fine artist’s paper. Excellent condition.

Tortuga en Boda – Turtle Bride or Turtle in Wedding. Sculpture by Sergio Bustamante. Ceramic and hand painted. Signed and numbered: “Sergio Bustamante 14/150 ©” This is one of a pair that goes with “Armadillo Groom”. Turtle and Armadillo were going to get married but Armadillo left her at the alter. He packed his valise and left, but now he feels guilty and remorse so he stops and sits under a huge toadstool to think about it. She is in her wedding vail with a big ribbon in her hair. She is carrying her bouquet of daisies to toss to one of her girlfriends. She is depressed and has her heart in her hand. Perfect condition. Rare. Should be sold with Armadillo Groom. Have COA dated November 1995. Perfect condition.

Ceramic and metal owl in the manner of Sergio Bustamante. Mexican, not signed but very good quality painting and metal work. Very good condition.

Huevo Avestruces (Egg Ostriches). Unique, one-off, ceramic, Sergio Bustamante sculpture. Signed: “Sergio Bustamante ©” in black paint under one of the ostriches. All, non-edition pieces were painted by Sergio Bustamante, himself.  That is why they are much more collectible than “factory editions”. Lots of great detail in the painting. The bodies of the birds are painted in a graduated way – time consuming. Have COA dated January 2004. Excellent condition.

Paper maché, by Sergio Bustamante. C.1986. This is signed and numbered “Sergio Bustamante 54/350″. Colourfully painted in the finest of detail typical of Bustamante. Small blemish on the bottom – can’t see it from the top. A very fine example of his work. Have COA and BOS dated January 1989. Excellent condition.

A typical, fun piece from Sergio Bustamante. Signed and numbered lower right by etching his signature into the metal “Sergio Bustamante 87/100″. A male lion accompanied by peacocks amongst jungle flowers and trees. Made from hammered and hand-formed tin and soldered. Not brand new and perfect. Light weight and in relatively good condition. Shows its age.

Iguana wall plaque in the manner of Sergio Bustamante. Great painting technique and bright colours with shiny sealer coat. Unidentifiable writing on the reverse. No signature visible. Has two, sturdy hanging hooks embedded in the ceramic (plaster?) in the back. Very well made and painted – definitely by someone who knows what they are doing. Excellent condition.
